Bedlam Plus Bed Bug Spray - Best Overall
Bedlam Plus is the spray that actually killed pyrethroid-resistant bugs in my apartment. It uses a non-pyrethroid mode of action and a fast knockdown agent, and it dries clear on fabric.
Check price on Amazon →I have dealt with one full bed bug infestation and helped a friend through another, and these five sprays are what actually worked when the licensed exterminator left.
I have lived through one real bed bug infestation in a city apartment, and I learned more in those eight weeks than I ever wanted to know about pesticide chemistry. Sprays are not magic, but a good residual product is the foundation that lets vacuuming, encasements, and heat treatment actually finish the job.
The five products below are what I personally used during my own treatment cycle and what my exterminator approved as supplements between his visits. I have flagged where each one fits in the plan.

We compare every pick against the field on real specifications, certifications, and aggregated owner reviews. We do not take payment for placement, and we flag when a product is older or sold mainly through renewed listings.

Reviewed in detail
Bedlam Plus Bed Bug Spray - Best Overall
Bedlam Plus is the spray that actually killed pyrethroid-resistant bugs in my apartment. It uses a non-pyrethroid mode of action and a fast knockdown agent, and it dries clear on fabric.

Crossfire Bed Bug Concentrate - Pro Grade
Crossfire is the concentrate most professional exterminators carry. You mix it in a pump sprayer and treat baseboards, frames, and cracks. Effective on resistant populations.
Eco Defense Bed Bug Killer - Best Natural
Eco Defense uses essential oils and is a legitimate contact killer with no chemical residue concerns. Won't break an established infestation alone but is the right choice on a mattress surface.

Ortho Home Defense Bed Bug Killer - Best Value
The Ortho ready-to-use spray is what you grab when you think you might have a problem but are not sure yet. Decent contact kill and a wide-availability product.

Harris Toughest Bed Bug Killer - Best Residual
Harris claims long residual action and in my experience it really does keep killing for several weeks on baseboards and frame joints. EPA registered and reasonably affordable.
Common questions
A spray alone rarely solves an established infestation. Combined with heat treatment, vacuuming, mattress encasements, and weekly retreatment, sprays absolutely contribute. For more than a small cluster, hire a pro.
Most are once dry. Keep kids and pets out of the room during application and for two to four hours after. Always read the label and ventilate the room while spraying.
