The DeWalt cordless grease gun is one of the most underrated tools in my barn. It pumps grease into stubborn trailer hubs that a hand gun cannot crack open, and it works the same hot or cold. Lucas X-tra is tacky enough to stay put on vertical pins and dropper joints. The blue color makes overspray easy to see and wipe up. Heavier than Mobil 1, so cold weather pumping requires patience.

Valvoline's multi vehicle is a true do-everything grease. It is what I send with friends who just bought their first DeWalt gun. Versatile, available everywhere, fair price.
Lubrimatic Marine Trailer - Best for Boats and Trailers
Lubrimatic Marine has the highest water resistance of any cartridge I have tested. Boat trailer bearings need this kind of grease. Do not substitute lithium grease in submerged applications.
Sta-Lube Heavy Duty Lithium - Best Budget
Sta-Lube is the cheapest cartridge I trust. The lithium soap base is consistent, the cartridge wall does not leak, and it works fine in a DeWalt gun. Skip the no-name brands below this price.

No. DeWalt makes the grease guns; the cartridges are universal 14 ounce tubes from third-party manufacturers. Any standard cartridge will fit a DeWalt 20V Max or 18V grease gun.
NLGI rates grease consistency from 000 (semi-fluid) to 6 (block). For most DeWalt grease guns, NLGI 2 is the sweet spot. NLGI 1 pumps easier in cold weather; NLGI 3 holds better at high temperatures.
