The iChlor 30 has a more compact cell and a digital display showing real-time output and salt level. It integrates with Pentair automation if you have an EasyTouch or IntelliCenter board.
CircuPool RJ-45 Plus - Best Value
CircuPool ships direct and undercuts the big brands by 30 to 40 percent. The RJ-45 Plus handles up to 45,000 gallons and the cell is rated for 15,000 hours which competes with Hayward and Pentair.
Solaxx Saltron Reliant - Best for Above Ground
For above ground pools the Solaxx Reliant is the right size. It hangs over the wall, plugs into a standard outlet, and chlorinates up to 20,000 gallons without plumbing changes.
Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater - Best Budget
For Intex and Bestway pools the Krystal Clear is the matching unit. It is not built for 7 year cell life, but for a seasonal above ground setup it does the job at a fraction of the cost.

Most quality cells run 4 to 7 years if you keep calcium under 400 ppm and clean the cell once or twice a season. Cheap cells often fail in 2 to 3 years.
Pool salt is at about 3,000 ppm, roughly one tenth of seawater. Modern pumps, heaters, and ladders are designed to handle it, but bare metal screws will still corrode.
