Why you should trust this review
The COSORI CO130 was purchased at retail and used for two months as both a daily cooking appliance and as part of a structured comparison against seven other countertop ovens. During this period I deliberately tested the smart features against my real-world workflow to evaluate whether they add genuine value or friction. I set up the VeSync app from scratch and used it for 60+ cooking sessions. No manufacturer involvement. Full methodology at /methodology.
How we tested the COSORI CO130
- App setup and connectivity: Timed the full Wi-Fi setup from unboxing to first remote control. Tested connection stability over 60 days.
- Air fry crispness test: 12 oz frozen fries via Air Fry function vs. same batch in Cosori CAF-P583S basket air fryer. Side-by-side texture and color comparison.
- Toast shade test: 6-slice white sandwich bread at Light, Medium, Dark settings. Evenness measured front-to-back and left-to-right.
- Temperature accuracy: Digital oven thermometer at center rack. 325 F, 350 F, 425 F set points. Logged 20 minutes after preheat.
- Bake test: 9-inch round vanilla cake at 350 F. Rise, crust color, and center doneness evaluated.
- Preset recipe test: Used app preset for chicken thighs and frozen pizza. Compared output to manual settings.
- Preheat timing: Cold start to preheat alert at 350 F and 400 F.
- Exterior heat: IR thermometer at 400 F air fry mode after 20 minutes.
Who should buy the CO130?
Buy this if you want smart home integration with your countertop oven and do not want to pay Breville prices. The CO130 is also the right choice for households where someone is cooking in another room and wants to monitor the oven without being physically in the kitchen. The app is genuinely useful for timed sessions, not just a marketing checkbox.
Skip this if you have privacy concerns about connected appliances or prefer not to create a VeSync account. Also skip if bake precision is your priority, as the Breville BOV845BSS still produces more accurate temperatures for baking.
Smart features: the app actually adds value
The VeSync app connected to a 2.4 GHz network in 2 minutes 45 seconds from a cold setup. The live temperature display in the app updated in real time, accurate to within 2 degrees of the physical panel reading. I used the remote monitoring during 40-minute roasting sessions to check progress without getting up from a desk, and on two occasions I extended the cook time remotely when the food needed more time.
The 50 preset recipes in the app are genuinely calibrated. The chicken thigh preset (400 F, 22 minutes, flip reminder at 11 minutes) produced properly cooked thighs with crispy skin on three separate tests. The app also supports custom program saving, which I used to store a 375 F, 4-minute leftover pizza reheat setting.
Alexa integration worked on the first attempt. โAlexa, preheat the COSORI oven to 375 degreesโ triggered the preheat cycle within 4 seconds.
Air fry performance: strong for a toaster oven
Air fry output on the CO130 was the second-best in our test group behind the Ninja DT201. Frozen fries at 400 F for 16 minutes produced a crispy exterior with soft interior, measuring approximately 92% of the crispness of the same batch in a dedicated basket air fryer. The basket design keeps food in a raised single layer with airflow underneath, which is the key factor in achieving basket-fryer-like crispness in a larger interior.
Chicken wings at 400 F for 22 minutes: skin crackly, internal temperature 176 F. Reheated fries at 375 F for 5 minutes came out close to fresh from the original cook, which is better than the microwave for this use case.
Toast and bake performance: solid, not exceptional
Toast evenness at six slices measured 4.3 out of 5 in our assessment, with a minor front-to-back gradient at medium shade. This is better than the Cuisinart TOA-60 and below the Breville BOV845BSS. For daily toast use, the gradient is subtle enough to be unnoticeable unless slices are placed side by side for direct comparison.
Bake temperature at 350 F averaged 340 F in our 20-minute test window, an 10-degree shortfall. At 425 F, the average was 413 F. For general cooking and air frying this is invisible. For precision baking, increase your set point by 10-15 degrees or add 5 minutes to recipe times.
Exterior heat and noise
Sides reached 135 F at 400 F air fry mode, the fan measured 60 dB at 3 feet. Both within expected range for an 1800 W convection oven. Standard 4-inch clearance on sides and 6 inches above applies.

Should you buy the COSORI Smart Air Fryer Toaster Oven CO130?
The COSORI CO130 earns its Best Smart designation by actually making the connected features useful rather than gimmicky. The VeSync app lets you monitor and adjust cooking from another room, the 50 preset recipes work reliably, and Wi-Fi setup took under 3 minutes. Air fry output is strong and toast evenness is competitive. At $170 it is the right choice for anyone who wants smart home integration without paying Breville prices.
Frequently asked questions
Does the COSORI CO130 work without the app?+
Yes. The physical control panel with a display and dial handles all functions independently. The app is optional and adds remote monitoring and preset access but is not required for basic operation.
How reliable is the Wi-Fi connection on the CO130?+
In two months of use, the app connection dropped twice. Both times it reconnected automatically within 2 minutes. On a 2.4 GHz network within 20 feet of the router, connection was stable throughout daily use. The oven does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
Is the COSORI CO130 good for meal prep?+
Yes, particularly for batch air frying. The 6-slice interior handles a full pound of chicken wings or two pounds of vegetables in a single layer. The app preset for chicken has been well-calibrated in our testing, producing consistent results without manual adjustment.
Can I use the CO130 without creating a COSORI account?+
You can use the physical controls without any account. The VeSync app requires an account for app-based control and for accessing the 50 preset recipes. If data sharing is a concern, the manual controls cover all the same functions.
