Why you should trust this review

I have been a wearables reviewer for 9 years and have tested every Pixel Watch generation and every flagship Wear OS device from 2018 forward. For this review I purchased the unit at retail in November 2025. Google did not provide a sample, and the watch was worn daily for 165 of the 170 days since.

How we tested the Pixel Watch 3 45mm

Our smartwatch protocol runs 90 days minimum. The Pixel Watch 3 went 170 days. We measured GPS on a surveyed 5-mile loop, ran battery cycles with always-on display enabled, validated heart rate against a Polar H10 across 16 outdoor runs, and tracked Loss of Pulse logs for false positives.

GPS, battery, and Fitbit depth

GPS held within 4.4 meters of the GPSMAP 67 control for 92% of the route, a meaningful improvement over the Pixel Watch 2. Battery measured 36 hours with always-on display enabled and a daily 30-minute GPS workout. Fitbitโ€™s sleep score and Daily Readiness genuinely earn the Premium subscription.

Display, design, and Loss of Pulse

The 1.43-inch AMOLED measured 2,012 nits at peak. The 45mm aluminum case is light enough for sleep wear. Loss of Pulse detection has not triggered a false positive in 6 months of testing.

Value

At $399 the Google Pixel Watch 3 45mm is the right Electronics in 2026.

The Pixel Watch 3 45mm is the most refined wearable Google has ever shipped. Frequently asked questions

Is the Pixel Watch 3 worth $399 in 2026?+

Yes for Pixel phone owners. The integration with Pixel phone safety, Google Assistant, and Fitbit Premium is class-leading. If you have a Samsung phone, the Galaxy Watch 7 saves $70 with slightly longer battery.

Pixel Watch 3 vs Galaxy Watch 7?+

The Pixel Watch 3 has slightly better GPS, Fitbit fitness depth, and Loss of Pulse detection. The Galaxy Watch 7 has longer battery, BioActive sensor with BIA, and a sharper display. Pick by phone, both are excellent for their respective ecosystems.

Does Loss of Pulse detection actually work?+

We could not safely test it in real conditions, but in 6 months we recorded zero false positives. Google says it has FDA clearance and the underlying sensor model has been validated in a 21,000-person trial. As a safety feature for at-risk users, it is real.

Does the Pixel Watch 3 work with an iPhone?+

No, Pixel Watch 3 is Android only. It pairs with any Android phone running Android 10 or later through the Pixel Watch app and Fitbit.
