Why you should trust this review

I bought this strap myself and have used it on my Quest 3 for months across gaming, fitness, and longer sessions. Kiwi Design did not provide it.

My test was whether a budget halo strap could actually rival the comfort of Meta’s far pricier official Elite Strap, so I lived with it through the kinds of sessions where the stock strap falls apart.

I wore it through long gaming and media sessions to judge whether it shifted weight off my cheeks and reduced the front-heavy feel of the stock strap.

I used the rear fit dial repeatedly to test how easily it locked in a secure, stable hold, and I tried it during active VR fitness to see if it stayed put. I assessed the pad cushioning over extended wear and noted the install process.

Comfort and weight distribution

The rigid halo is the whole point and it works. The over-the-top stabilizer and the way the halo cradles the back of the head shifted weight off my cheekbones, eliminating the front-heavy pressure the stock strap creates.

Long sessions that used to leave red marks on my face became genuinely comfortable. For anyone who finds the Quest 3 fatiguing out of the box, this is the single biggest fix.

Fit and stability

The rear fit dial makes a real difference. It let me fine-tune the tension for a secure hold that did not slip, and tightening or loosening on the fly was quick and easy.

During active VR fitness the headset stayed planted with no readjusting mid-session, which the stock strap cannot manage. The cushioned forehead and rear pads added to a stable, comfortable fit.

For most users the comfort gains are close enough to the official strap that the savings are hard to argue with. It is the kind of accessory that makes the headset noticeably better without a premium outlay.

Bulk and break-in

The honest trade-offs are minor. The rigid halo adds bulk compared to the slim stock fabric strap, so the headset takes up more space and feels a bit larger on the head.

There was also a little strap creak on initial fit that mostly settled after break-in. And it is designed for the Quest 3 specifically, not the 3S, so confirm your headset model before buying.

Who should buy the Kiwi Design Elite Strap?

Buy it if your Quest 3 feels front-heavy or uncomfortable in longer sessions, you want halo-strap comfort without paying Meta’s price, and you value a secure fit dial for active VR.

Skip it if you have a Quest 3S rather than a Quest 3, or if you prefer the slim, low-bulk stock fabric strap and do not mind its comfort limits.

The verdict

After months of use, the Kiwi Design Elite Strap has become a permanent fixture on my Quest 3. The halo design, the secure fit dial, and the cushioned pads transform comfort, and it does so at a fraction of the official strap’s cost.

The added bulk and a little initial creak are small prices for the comfort gain. As a Quest 3 comfort upgrade it earns its 4.7 rating and a confident recommendation.
