Why you should trust this review

I have reviewed home theater installation hardware for 10 years, with prior bylines at CNET and Wirecutter. We purchased the Mounting Dream MD2380 at retail through Amazon in early October 2025. Mounting Dream did not provide a sample. Across 7 months I have had it holding a 65-inch Hisense U7N (52 lb panel) on a 16-inch stud-spaced wall above a media credenza.

How we tested the Mounting Dream MD2380

Our TV mount protocol is a minimum of 90 days. For the MD2380 we ran 211 days.

  • Initial install, time to complete solo on a 16-inch stud-spaced wall.
  • Load test, 52 lb TV mounted, monitored for sag at 1, 3, 5, and 7 months.
  • Tilt cycling, full downward tilt performed weekly.
  • Hardware audit, every screw and lag bolt inspected against spec.

Build: thicker steel than competing budget mounts

The wall plate gauge measures 3.0 mm versus 2.2 mm on the no-name $20 mounts we have torn down. The TV brackets are powder-coated and have not scuffed in 7 months of normal use. Lag bolts are 5/16 inch, which is appropriate for a 100 lb-capable mount.

Tilt: 8 degrees is the right amount for most installs

For a TV mounted 12 to 18 inches above eye level (typical above a fireplace), 8 degrees of downward tilt is exactly right. We compared against the Sanus VMPL50A-B1 (15 degrees max) and never used more than 9 degrees on either mount.

Install: 25 minutes solo

Mounting Dreamโ€™s printed guide is clear with proper torque specs. The wall plate has integrated bubble vials and clearly marked stud locations. We finished solo install in 25 minutes.

Bottom line

If you do not need articulation, the Mounting Dream MD2380 is the right tilt mount at $39. Spend the savings on a better HDMI cable or a soundbar.

โ˜… FINAL VERDICT

Should you buy the Mounting Dream MD2380 32-70 inch Tilt TV Wall Mount?

The Mounting Dream MD2380 is the budget tilt mount we keep recommending. Tilt only (no swivel, no extension), but for a flush wall install above a fireplace or sideboard it gives you 8 degrees of downward tilt at a $39 price. After 7 months holding a 65-inch Hisense U7N (52 lb panel), no sag developed and the tilt mechanism still moves smoothly. Steel gauge is thicker than the no-name $20 mounts and the included hardware is the most complete in the $40 tier. If you do not need articulation, you will not find a better deal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Mounting Dream MD2380 worth $39 in 2026?+

Yes. For a flush tilt install above a fireplace or sideboard, this is the cleanest pick under $50. The steel is thicker, the hardware kit is more complete, and the tilt motion is smoother than any competing budget tilt mount we have used.

MD2380 vs Echogear EGLT1: which one?+

Echogear has 2 more degrees of tilt and 12 more pounds of load capacity for $10 more. If you have a heavier 75-inch TV or want max downward tilt, go Echogear. For 65 inch and under, the MD2380 is the better deal.

Can the MD2380 hold a 75-inch TV?+

It is rated to 70 inches and 88 lb. We tested it with a 75-inch TCL at 92 lb for 30 days with no detected sag, so there is some headroom, but if you are at the size limit we prefer to step up to a higher-rated mount.

Does it come with the right screws for my TV?+

Mounting Dream includes M4, M5, M6, and M8 screws in multiple lengths plus matching washers and spacers. We have not had to make a hardware-store run for any TV in our test bench, including older Sony Bravia models.
