Untouchable 4K gaming with DLSS 3.5 across nearly every title
24GB of VRAM is the sweet spot for local AI work
FE cooler runs quiet and cool even in a mid-tower
Strong creator performance in Blender and DaVinci Resolve
โ What we don't
High price keeps it out of mainstream reach
Power draw needs a quality 850W or larger PSU
The 16-pin connector still demands a careful seat and inspection
The bottom line After 90 days with the RTX 4090 Founders Edition the picture in 2026 is clear: this is still the most powerful card most people can actually buy and live with. 4K Ultra with DLSS 3.5 stays north of 100 fps in nearly everything, Blender render times shame anything below it, and 24GB of VRAM lets you load real local models. The FE cooler keeps it under 70C with the side panel on. Pricey, but the only step up is a much harder buy.
Value
At $1599 the NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founders Edition is the right Electronics in 2026.

A quality 850W ATX 3.0 unit is enough for most builds. Stretch to 1000W if you pair it with a Core i9 and run heavy transients.
Is the FE cooler good enough?+
Yes. We hit 67C peak in a mid-tower with two intake fans. It is also quieter than most AIB triple-fan designs.
Is 24GB VRAM useful in 2026?+
For 4K texture mods and local AI workloads, very much so. Pure 4K gaming rarely needs it today.
