Toto Drake CST744E - Best Overall
The CST744E is the standard elongated Eco Drake with a 12-inch rough-in. It uses the G-Max 3-inch flush valve, which moves water roughly twice as fast as a typical 2-inch valve. The bowl shape is comfortable and the rim wash leaves the bowl genuinely clean.
Check price on Amazon →I replaced three toilets in my own house with Eco Drake variants and I learned which configurations are actually worth buying.
I have installed enough Toto Eco Drakes at this point that my plumber gives me a discount on the third one. The 1.28 GPF rating is a genuine water saver compared to older 1.6 and 3.5 GPF toilets, and the G-Max flushing valve is the only low-flow system I have used that actually does the job in one push.
The Drake line is confusing because Toto sells roughly a dozen variants under similar names: two piece, one piece, elongated, round, ADA height, standard height, Sanagloss coating, and several rough-in widths. I cut through all of that and tested the configurations most homeowners will actually be choosing between.

Reviewed in detail
Toto Drake CST744E - Best Overall
The CST744E is the standard elongated Eco Drake with a 12-inch rough-in. It uses the G-Max 3-inch flush valve, which moves water roughly twice as fast as a typical 2-inch valve. The bowl shape is comfortable and the rim wash leaves the bowl genuinely clean.
Toto Drake II CST454CEFG - Best Premium Pick
The Drake II steps up to the larger 4-inch trapway and adds Sanagloss ceramic glaze, which makes the bowl visibly easier to clean. It is the toilet I put in my own master bath and I have not touched it with a brush in months.

Toto Drake CST744EL ADA Height - Best for Tall Users
The EL variant sits at 17 inches to the seat rim, which is the comfort height most adults prefer. Older knees will thank you, and the flush performance is identical to the standard model.
Toto Drake CST744ELR Right Hand - Best for Awkward Layouts
The ELR moves the trip lever to the right side, which sounds trivial until you have a tight powder room where the standard left-hand lever hits a side wall.
Toto Drake CST743E Round Bowl - Best for Small Bathrooms
The round bowl saves roughly 2 inches of front projection, which makes a real difference in a 5x5 powder room. Same G-Max flush valve, same reliability.
Common questions
Yes, in my testing the G-Max flushing system on the 1.28 GPF models cleared waste as reliably as my old 1.6 GPF unit, and the bowl rinse is noticeably better.
Standard models use a 12-inch rough-in. Toto also sells 10-inch and 14-inch variants under different SKUs, so measure from the finished wall to the floor bolts.
