Value

At $1,399 the Miele G7106 SCU is the right premium dishwasher in 2026 for homeowners who treat appliances as long-term investments. After 10 months it has performed without a single fault, and the build quality has not degraded in any visible way.

Cleaning Performance

The cleaning is the best in this test group. The Auto cycle uses sensors to detect soil load and adjusts water volume, temperature, and cycle length. We deliberately loaded baked-on rice in a casserole dish, and the Auto cycle returned it spotless without pre-rinsing.

AutoDos System

This is the standout feature. You drop a PowerDisk into a chamber inside the door, and the dishwasher dispenses the correct amount of detergent per cycle. After 10 months we have used 14 disks at about $14 each, so roughly $200 in detergent. That is more expensive than bulk pods but the convenience is significant.

Build And Drying

The door hinge has a damped close that feels engineered. The interior is full stainless including the floor of the tub. AutoOpen at the end of the cycle cracks the door for residual heat to evaporate moisture. Drying is excellent across plastics, glass, and stainless.

Verdict

The Miele G7106 SCU is the long-term play. You pay more upfront and more in detergent, but you get a dishwasher engineered to outlast two cycles of American mid-range units. Pick it if you are settled in your home, otherwise the Bosch 500 saves $450 with 90 percent of the performance.

โ˜… FINAL VERDICT

Should you buy the Miele G7106 SCU Dishwasher?

The Miele G7106 SCU is our best premium dishwasher at $1,399 in 2026. It runs at 44 dBA with the lowest perceived noise floor we have tested, ships with the AutoDos automatic detergent dispenser system, includes the 3D MultiFlex cutlery tray with adjustable height and split sections, uses ComfortClose hinge for the door, includes a TwinPower wash motor, ships with stainless interior and a hidden top control panel, and is engineered to a 20-year build target. The trade is the price climbs fast with PowerDisk consumables and the dishwasher feels finicky compared to American brands.
