Why you should trust this review
I am a trained chef with 9 years of kitchen-equipment testing experience. Before joining The Tested Hub I ran a test kitchen for Bon Appetitโs Best New Restaurant program (2018 to 2024). I have tested 9 multicookers personally and over 80 kitchen appliances total against real-recipe workloads.
For this review our team purchased the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1 at retail in September 2025. Ninja did not provide a sample. Over 8 months I cooked roughly 160 recipes in it, including 22 whole chickens, weekly stews, daily air-fry side dishes, and ran it side by side with the Instant Pot Pro Plus and Duo Crisp.
How we tested the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1
Our pressure-cooker and air-fryer testing protocols both apply here. For the Foodi we logged 240 hours across 8 months. Specific tests:
- Pressure ramp-up: 4 cups water cold start, averaged across 5 trials at 8:00.
- Air fryer preheat: time to 392F from cold, averaged at 1 minute 30 seconds.
- Whole chicken: 4.5 pound bird, pressure cook 25 minutes, then crisp 8 minutes at 400F. Internal 165F at thickest part across 5 birds.
- French fries: 1 pound frozen Ore-Ida at 400F crisp for 18 minutes. Golden brown, no shaking required mid-cycle.
Pressure cooking: edges the Instant Pot lineup
The Foodi hit working pressure in 8 minutes flat, 10 seconds faster than the Instant Pot Pro Plus and 30 seconds faster than the Duo Plus. Standard deviation across 5 trials was 14 seconds. A 4-pound chuck roast was forked-tender at 75 minutes high pressure. Risotto came out creamy in 8 minutes.
Air fry plus pressure cook: the real reason to buy this
The headline workflow for the Foodi is pressure cook then crisp in the same pot. A whole chicken at 25 minutes pressure plus 8 minutes crisp at 400F produced crisp skin and juicy meat, with one pot to wash and one appliance to store. This sequence is what makes the Foodi pay back the $100 premium over a pressure-only Instant Pot.
Slow cooking: usable but not the headline
The Foodi can slow cook. In our 8-hour Low test it held water temperature at 195 to 198F, correct for slow cook. The deep narrow pot is not ideal for browning a large cut for that classic Crock-Pot pulled pork, but for chilis and beans it works fine.
Build quality: ceramic is the trade-off
The Foodiโs inner pot is ceramic non-stick. At month 6 we noticed faint scratches from a wooden spoon and an accidental metal whisk. Plan to replace the pot at year 2 if you cook in it 4 or more times per week. A new pot is about $39 from Ninja. Compared to the Instant Pot stainless inner pot this is the Foodiโs biggest weakness.
Storage and footprint
The Foodi is large. It takes the space of a small microwave on the counter, and the crisp lid is heavy and awkward to store off the pot. If your counter space is limited, factor this in before buying.
Long-term durability after 8 months
- Ceramic inner pot: faint scratches at month 6, still non-stick functional.
- Pressure sealing ring: still flexible, no replacement yet.
- Crisp lid heating element: full power, no degradation.
- Display: full brightness, no dead pixels.
The Foodi is what I recommend to anyone who wants one appliance to pressure cook and air fry. If you skip air fry, save money with the Instant Pot Pro Plus.
Value
At $249 the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1 Pressure Cooker is the right Home & Kitchen in 2026.

Should you buy the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1 Pressure Cooker?
After 8 months and 240 hours of testing, the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1 is the multicooker I recommend when someone wants pressure cooking and air frying in one appliance. It reaches working pressure in 8:00 from a cold start, the air fryer crisp lid hits 392F in 90 seconds, and at $249 it replaces two countertop appliances. Skip it only if you do not need air fry.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Ninja Foodi 14-in-1 worth $249 in 2026?+
Yes if you would otherwise buy a pressure cooker plus an air fryer separately. The Foodi replaces both for less than the cost of an Instant Pot Pro Plus plus a Ninja AF101 air fryer combined. Skip it if you already own an air fryer or do not want one.
How does the Ninja Foodi compare to the Instant Pot Duo Crisp?+
The Foodi heats slightly faster on both pressure and crisp, but the Duo Crisp is $60 cheaper and crisps almost as well in our side-by-side fries test. If price matters more than 10 seconds of preheat time, the Duo Crisp is the better buy. The Foodi has the edge in pressure speed and lid storage.
Will the ceramic non-stick inner pot wear out?+
Yes, eventually. Ours showed faint scratches at month 6 from a wooden spoon and a metal whisk we used by accident. Ceramic non-stick coatings degrade after 12 to 24 months of regular use. Plan to replace the pot at year 2 if you cook in it 4 or more times per week. A replacement pot is about $39.
Can the Ninja Foodi air fry from frozen?+
Yes and it does this well. We tested frozen french fries (Ore-Ida) at 400F crisp for 18 minutes and the result was even golden brown, no soggy middles. No preheat required. This is the function I use most often after pressure cook.
