Mount and dismount
The SuperLatch mounting system uses 4 torque clamps that engage round, square, and aero crossbars. First installation took 12 minutes including reading the manual. Subsequent installs are roughly 10 minutes. The clamps include a torque indicator that pops up when correctly tightened, which removes the guesswork of “is it tight enough.”
We did experience one issue on a long road trip. After roughly 1500 miles of mixed highway and rough secondary roads, the clamps loosened by what we estimated was a quarter turn. The torque indicators were still showing tight but a manual check revealed slight play. We retighten before every leg of multi day trips as a precaution.
Wind noise and fuel economy
