Why the lawn-of-spikes design works
The flexible silicone blades hold parts upright with their open end down. Every blade contacts air on all sides, so water evaporates faster than on a flat rack. Parts air-dry in about 45 minutes for thin items like nipples and rings, around 90 minutes for full bottle bodies. Flanges and breast shells dry in roughly an hour.
Mildew resistance: the real long-term test
Across 9 months we have not seen any mildew on the blades. The silicone is non-porous, the blades dry between cycles, and the drainage tray catches water that would otherwise pool. The rack remains visibly clean under direct light.
