Apple Home Key and NFC
Home Key was the biggest surprise. Tap the iPhone or Apple Watch to the rosette, the door unlocks in well under a second, no app open required. The two included NFC cards work the same way and survived 6 months in a wallet without wear.
Wi-Fi without a bridge
The previous Level Lock+ required a Bridge accessory for remote control. Connect bakes the Wi-Fi radio in. Setup took about 5 minutes and remote unlock was reliable across our test period.

Level Lock+ Connect is the rare smart deadbolt that looks like a normal deadbolt. The motor and electronics live inside the bolt itself so the exterior keeps your existing handle and aesthetic. The Connect version adds built-in Wi-Fi so remote control no longer needs a bridge. After 6 months on a front door it ran cleanly, NFC cards unlocked in well under a second, and Apple Home Key on iPhone worked first try. The trade is the $379 price and a CR2 battery that lasts roughly 4 to 6 months.

Is Level Lock+ Connect worth $379 in 2026?+
If aesthetics and Apple Home Key are top priorities, yes. You pay for the invisible design and the premium feel. For pure utility a Schlage Encode Plus or Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi gives similar features for less.
Do I need a Level Bridge with the Connect version?+
No. The Connect version has built-in Wi-Fi. The original Level Lock+ required the Level Bridge for remote access, but Connect retires that need.
What if the CR2 battery dies?+
You can briefly touch a 9V battery to the exterior contacts to power the lock and unlock with your phone or NFC card. Then replace the CR2.
Will it look like a normal deadbolt on my door?+
Yes. That is the whole point. The motor and brains are inside the bolt mechanism. The exterior thumbturn and rosette look like a standard deadbolt.
