For this review I bought the Casetify Impact Case at retail in January 2026. Casetify did not provide a sample. The case has been on my personal iPhone 16 every day since.
I logged 4 months of daily use across pocket carry, work travel, and one accidental drop in a parking lot that pushed the case into our drop-test protocol. I compared it against the Spigen Tough Armor and the OtterBox Defender Pro.
How we tested the Casetify Impact Case

Who should buy the Casetify Impact Case?
Buy this case if:
- You want a designer-style print or a custom design with your name or monogram.
- You also need real drop protection, not a thin fashion case.
- You use MagSafe daily and want native full-strength magnet attachment.
- You are willing to pay a premium for design and customization.
Skip it if:
- You only care about protection. The Spigen Tough Armor at $24 protects similarly.
- You need a holster or job-site rugged case, choose the OtterBox Defender Pro.
- You hate the slightly slick TPU edges that come with the design-first construction.
Drop protection: the surprise
Casetify advertises 6.6-foot drop protection through their qiTech impact pocket, a foam insert at the corners. We were skeptical, designer cases historically over-promise on drop ratings. Our 4-foot and 6.6-foot drops onto pavement, ten total drops in three orientations, produced zero damage to the iPhone 16. The corner pockets visibly compressed at the 6.6-foot drops and returned to original shape. The polycarbonate shell shows no cracks. The phone took zero glass damage.
The accidental real-world drop happened in a parking lot, roughly 3.5 feet, screen-down onto pavement. Phone survived, the case took a small scuff at the corner, and the iPhone 16’s display was intact. That tracks with the test bench results.
MagSafe and grip
MagSafe is the cleanest part of the Impact Case experience. The native magnet ring is full-strength. On our Belkin BoostCharge Pro the phone held vertically and charged at a steady 15W on the inline meter. On a magnetic vent mount the phone stayed firmly attached through a 60 mph highway test. There is no perceptible weakening compared to a bare phone.
Grip is the trade-off for the design-first construction. The TPU edge rails are smoother than a Smartish Gripzilla or a Spigen Tough Armor. One-handed reach across the 6.1-inch display works fine, but in sweat-hand and cold-weather gloved testing the case slips more than a textured rugged case. If grip is your top concern, the Smartish Gripzilla at half the price is the smarter pick.
Print durability and value
The custom print is layered under a clear protective coating. After 4 months of pocket carry, the print shows no visible fading at the high-contact corners. The marble pattern on our test unit still photographs cleanly under direct light. Casetify rates the print for the lifetime of the case under normal use, and our testing supports that for at least 4 months.
The value equation is the weakest part of the review. At $65 the case is roughly 2.5x a Spigen Tough Armor and the protection is comparable. The premium is for design, customization, and brand. If those matter to you, the price is fair. If they do not, choose a cheaper case.
