Why you should trust this review

I have been reviewing strollers for 6 years and parenting two kids close in age for 4 years, and I bought the Nuna Demi Grow at retail in July 2025. Nuna did not provide a sample. Over 10 months I have used the Demi Grow in single mode with a 4 year old and in double mode after our second turned 1. The frame has been on three flights, in malls, on city sidewalks, and through three rain showers.

I compared the Demi Grow against my older UPPAbaby Vista V2, a Bugaboo Donkey 5, and a Baby Jogger City Select 2 on matched routes. Methodology is on our methodology page.

How we tested the Nuna Demi Grow

  • Configuration time. 50 trials of converting between single and double, stopwatched.
  • Fold time. 50 trials in single mode, 30 in double mode.
  • Roll quality. 3 km marked route on cobblestones, sidewalks, and curb cuts.
  • Trunk fit. Tested in a midsize sedan, a compact SUV, and a hatchback.
  • Long term wear. Fabric, hinges, and brakes inspected at month 5 and month 10.

Who should buy the Nuna Demi Grow?

Buy this stroller if:

  • You have two kids close in age or plan one within the next two years.
  • You want one frame that scales rather than buying a new stroller.
  • You travel with the stroller and need it to fold in either configuration.
  • You like the Nuna PIPA car seat ecosystem and want native compatibility.

Skip if:

  • You only ever plan to push one child. The UPPAbaby Vista is a better deal.
  • You run with your stroller. The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 is the right tool.
  • You drive a small hatchback. Folded size in double is awkward.

Versatility: 23 configurations is a real number

The 23 configurations are not marketing fluff. We rotated through 11 different setups across 10 months as our family needs changed. Both seats can face forward, rearward, or face each other. The toddler stand-and-ride board attaches in seconds when the older one wants to ride.

Build quality and roll

The aluminum frame and Nuna fabrics are flagship class. After 10 months of use including light rain, the canopy fabric shows no fading and the foam handlebar wraps still feel new. Roll quality on smooth sidewalks is excellent, on cobblestones it is good in single mode and slightly choppy in double mode under combined 35 kg of child weight.

Fold mechanism

The Demi Grow folds in single or double configuration, which sets it apart from competitors. The fold is a two-handed motion, six seconds with practice. Folded dimensions in single mode at 62 x 60 x 39 cm fit our midsize sedan trunk.

Travel and accessories

We fly with the Demi Grow in a padded gate-check bag. The frame survived three flights with only a scuff on the front leg. Pair with the Nuna PIPA Lite RX for a complete travel system that snaps directly to the frame without adapters.

Storage and ergonomics

The under-seat basket holds 4.5 kg in single mode and is harder to access in double mode. The telescoping handlebar adjusts across 8 positions and we have used 4 of them depending on which parent is pushing. After 10 months the brakes still engage cleanly with one foot.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nuna Demi Grow worth $899 in 2026?+

Yes if you have or plan two kids close in age. After 10 months we found the seat versatility genuinely useful, and the same frame served us in single mode for the older toddler then converted to double when the younger arrived. For one child only the UPPAbaby Vista is a better value.

Demi Grow vs UPPAbaby Vista V2?+

Vista for one child plus accessory possibility, Demi Grow for committed two-child families. The Demi Grow folds in double mode, which the Vista does not, and saves a step at car loading.

Can the Demi Grow take an infant car seat?+

Yes, directly with Nuna PIPA series. With other major brands an adapter is required and the seat arrangement options reduce.

How heavy is the Demi Grow in double mode?+

16.8 kg with both seats. Lifting into a midsize sedan trunk in this configuration is manageable but a workout. We fold to single mode for car transport when possible.

Does the Demi Grow handle uneven sidewalks?+

Yes well in single mode, less smoothly in double mode. The all-wheel suspension absorbs cobblestones and curb cuts at walking pace. At running pace this is not the right stroller.
